Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years to alleviate musculoskeletal pain.

It can be helpful for people with a range of persistent muscle or joint pains.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends considering acupuncture as a treatment option for:

  • chronic (long-term) pain

  • chronic tension type headaches

  • Migraines

Acupuncture stimulates the sensory nerves in the skin, helping the body to produce its own pain relief mechanisms, such as endorphins.

Samuel has practiced acupuncture and dry needling for over 10 years and is able to offer it to most patients as a treatment option. Please do ask if you are interested in trying acupuncture. It can be used on its own or in combination with osteopathy and rehabilitation. There is no additional cost for using this treatment.
